A little history about Zon's:

Frank Zontini and Ken Tilton worked together in restaurants for years and finally decided it was time to realize the dream of Frank's father (whose nick name was 'Zon') and open a cozy, hip, neighborhood joint. Frank Zontini Sr. had been in the industry all of his life and passed away before getting the chance to open his own spot.

The perfect location found, Frank and Kenny signed the lease for Zon's on September 1st, 2001, unaware that a major life-changing event was just days away from happening. Opening a new business after such a tragedy began to seem like a dubious idea, but the pair persevered. And judging by the fact that the business is still growing years later, it seems that their Comfort Food with a Twist idea was a welcome one for Jamaica Plain.
